Norfolk Speaker’s Lunch 2024
“Inside the Modern Army Benevolent Fund”

Time: Gathering from 12:00 noon with Lunch at 12:30
As we celebrate our 80th Anniversary come and find out all about the Modern Army Benevolent Fund and how it is continuing to stand at the forefront of support for the Army family in an ever changing world.
Guest Speaker: Simon Ferrier, Engagement Manager East Anglia and London based at Merville Barracks, Colchester.
Simon joined the Army at the age of 16 as a Junior Soldier. He served in the 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment for twenty four years, to include a number of operational tours in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. His last role in 3 Para was as the Unit Welfare Officer. He subsequently worked at the Personnel Recovery Centre, Colchester for three years and has now been with the Army Benevolent Fund for nine years. He is therefore eminently qualified to tell us all with a soldiers’ eye and first hand about the current daily pressures on the ABF and how it is continually rising to meet them.
Dress Code: Jacket & Tie
Menu:
- Rolled Beef Brisket: Honey roast parsnip puree, confit carrot top, potato rosti and horseradish jus.
OR
- Roast Artichoke: Black truffle and parmesan risotto and salsify crisp.

Blackberry and almond frangipane tart, poached pear and vanilla seed ice cream.

Tickets:
£32.50 per person – Including lunch, a glass of wine, coffee
- There will be a Charity Donation Box available on the day. The suggested donation is £5. Please bring cash to make a donation.

- Payment will need to be taken prior to this to complete your booking.
- If a cancellation is made up to 48 hours prior to an event, a full refund will be issued. Any cancellations received after this time will NOT be refunded.
