The Rosie Kay Dance Company, which received financial backing from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity for its production of 5 Soldiers: The Body is the Frontline, was named the Best Independent Company at the Critics Circle National Dance Awards for 2015.
5 Soldiers looks at how the body remains essential to war, providing an intimate view of the training that prepares soldiers for combat and the possibility of injury, and the impact conflict has on the body and mind.
The production is also about to embark on a tour of Scotland, starting in Glasgow in April. A film of the production has also been shortlisted in the Creative Response category for the Imperial War Museum 2016 Short Film Festival.
