Army Crusaders victorious in third Charity football match against MPs team
On a crisp Autumn morning on the Artillery Garden at the HAC, the Army Crusaders took on the UK Parliamentary FC for the third ABF The Soldiers’ Charity Cup match, with the Crusaders looking to build on their two previous victories.
A strong attacking start from the Crusaders paid off with an early goal, followed by two more before the half time whistle sounded. Although the Crusaders were the dominant team in the first half, a strong display after the kick-off saw the MPs team hold their own. A goal apiece in this half settled the score at 4-1 to the Crusaders.
The match was in held in support of The Soldiers’ Charity’s partnership with the HAC – HAC 1537 – and is a firm date in both teams footballing calendar. Wendy Searle, Head of Communications at ABF The Soldiers’ Charity commented: “We want to say a big thank you to all the footballers, and to the HAC for hosting the match on such a beautiful ground. We’re already planning next year’s match, and maybe it will be the MPs year!”
