On December 1st, 32 soldiers from Corunna Company, 2nd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, started on their epic challenge ‘Riding Home for Christmas’ by ‘cycling’ the 3586 miles back from Kabul to Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, to spend some well-deserved time with their friends and families.
Their cycle took place on static exercise bikes over a two-day period with each soldier completing around 113 miles each – in addition to their operational tasks in Kabul.
They have chosen to support our charity and are aiming to raise £3,586, £1 for each mile cycled. At the time of writing, the soldiers from Corunna Company have raised £2,690, an impressive figure, but not the one they’re hoping for!
It’s the season of goodwill, so why not help them reach their fundraising target before Christmas by donating via their JustGiving page.
