We are honoured and delighted to announce that Her Majesty The Queen has been confirmed as the Royal Patron of the Army Benevolent Fund, the national charity of the British Army, supporting soldiers, veterans, and their families such that they can avoid hardship and live with independence and dignity.
Her Majesty The Queen, who previously was our Vice Patron, is the third Royal patron since the charity was established in 1944. The late Queen Elizabeth II succeeded Her father, King George VI, as Patron of the Army Benevolent Fund in 1952, and supported the charity throughout Her reign.
Tim Hyams, Chief Executive of the Army Benevolent Fund, said: “The Army Benevolent Fund is proud and honoured that Her Majesty The Queen has been confirmed as the charity’s Patron. We look forward to the privilege of working with Her Majesty to ensure the Army Benevolent Fund continues to be there for soldiers, for life.”
