Peter served during World War Two with the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light infantry. Since 2023 he has lived in Broughton House, Salford, one of our partner charity care homes for military veterans.
During his Army career, Peter served in several countries, including various theatres during World War II, Cyprus and Palestine, and he was awarded six medals, including the Chevalier de La Legion d’Honneur medal for his Army service during France’s Liberation. He finished his military service as a Sergeant.
After the war in 1947, Peter married his wife and moved to Manchester in 1949. Peter has one son and two grandchildren. After leaving the Army, Peter first worked in the railway industry and then ICI for many years. He became a resident in Broughton House, Salford in April 2023.
