Today, Phil Childs from our East and West Midlands offices will be attempting the world record for the most press ups in 30 seconds at the Nottingham War Memorial Poppy Gardens. Phil has been attempting to perform 26,000 press up in 26 days to raise funds for our charity as part of the 2.6. challenge.
Members of the public took on the 2.6 challenge in place of the London Marathon, which was cancelled due to COVID-19. Still wanting to do his bit for the Army family, Phil has been averaging 1,000 push ups a day to reach his target.
Phil has been joined with Regional Director Stuart Wiles as he completes multiple mini challenges. These include 1,000 press ups in an hour, 1,000 press ups with a 25kg weight, doing a superman press up and completing the famous Army Personal Fitness Assessment task of doing as many press ups as you can in two minutes.
