We are pleased to award Help 4 Homeless Veterans (H4HV) with a grant of £15,000. We have previously supported H4Hv back in 2017. This grant will go towards helping the charity provide accommodation for veterans who may find themselves homeless and in need of a new beginning. All of this important work goes towards helping create a secure and comfortable home.

Based in South Yorkshire, H4HV has helped almost 500 veterans with their housing problems since its inception in 2010. Its work has given ex-service personnel a chance to get back on their feet after leaving the Army.

In April 2018, H4HV was awarded the Duke of York Community Initiative Award by HRH The Duke of York for its work providing veterans with a home to begin their new lives in. The majority of its work takes place in Barnsley working with Berneslai Homes and Doncaster with St Leger Homes. The charity rents some of the housing stock and sub-lets these properties to homeless veterans, absorbing the cost of rent and home essentials, such as bedding and white goods, until the veterans can properly start anew.

Steve Bentham-Bates, CEO at Help 4 Homeless Veterans, added: “Without support from organisations like The Soldiers’ Charity, our charity would not be able to provide such a decent place for homeless veterans to begin rebuilding their lives. Thank you.”

Brigadier (Ret’d) Robin Bacon, Chief of Staff at ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, said: “We are so pleased to be helping Help 4 Homeless Veterans with its incredible work. Supporting the Army family in any way they need is, and always has been, at the heart of everything we do. We wish Help 4 Homeless Veterans the very best of luck with their future work.”
