Tim Hyams CB OBE, Chief Executive

The Chief Executive is the senior executive director of the Charity, operating with the authority delegated to him by the Board of Trustees, to enable accountable, effective and efficient leadership and management of the Army Benevolent Fund. He is responsible for advising the Board when it is determining its policies and priorities and for ensuring that these policies and priorities are implemented effectively.

Peter Monteith MBE, Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for the co-ordination of the Charity’s routine operations and is the lead for all planning activity. He is also the HR and IT/Data Director, the Company Secretary, Secretary to the Board of Trustees and the point of contact for the Royal Patrons. The COO also leads on all infrastructure and office accommodation issues.

Director of Communications & Marketing has overall responsibility for coordination and oversight of the charity’s marketing and communications activity. This includes brand management, marketing, external communications, PR and media, VIP and case study liaison, and ABF merchandise.

Svetlana has over 20 years’ experience of working in the charity sector. She joined the Army Benevolent Fund in 2023 and leads our income generating activities across the UK. SUZY HOLMES, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING & ENGAGEMENT

Responsible for the Community Fundraising Programme of Events, running the Charity Events Working Group and oversight of the County Committee and Volunteer Community Support.

Daniel Jones, Corporate Partnerships Manager

Enabling industry leading corporate partners to support the Army family, achieve corporate social responsibility objectives and engage staff through partnership with the Army’s national charity.

Daniel manages the charity’s national corporate partnerships, ranging from Cause-Related Marketing, Corporate Membership and staff fundraising to strategic partnerships.

The Grants Team is responsible for the development, management, and implementation of a balanced and effective grants program. It acts as the Charity focal point/ first point of contact for all matters relating to our charitable awards including those to individuals and charity delivery partners. It provides the data source for staff across the charity relating to our grants program in the first instance via the XO.
